How to do Bare Metal Recovery for centrally managed agents?

Post by StephanF »

Hi,

our agents (Workstation Edition) do their backups to a central VBR repository. Before the update to VBR 9.5 U3 I gave access to the repository for a dedicated user account. Then I configured the repository access locally on each agent. I case of a Bare Metal Recovery I booted from the recovery media, entered the server IP address and repository credentials and was able to select the restore point.

Now after the update to VBR 9.5 U3 I switched to central agent management with a backup policy. The backups are stored in the same repository. Credentials are not needed anymore. Backup is working fine.
But how do I do a Bare Metal Recovery now? The recovery media still asks for credentials to access the repository but whatever I do it doesn't find any restore points. How is this supposed to work now?

Thanks,
Stephan

Hi Stephan,

You should use Veeam B&R administrator account in order to access repository.

Hi Dima,

this is indeed working. I played around with repository access permissions but didn't try this simple solution. Thank you.
