Hi Everyone,
I'm the tech guy for a small business and we're interested in moving from Veritas Backup to Veeam. Veeam's a LOT faster than Veritas however there doesn't seem to be a way to exclude folders from the backup job. I've tried EVERYTHING and every which way - the excluded folders always end up being backed up regardless.
I've configured the backup job as a file level backup, added the drives to be backed up and then specified the folders that need to be excluded. No matter what I've done or how many times I've run the backup job, the excluded folders ALWAYS get included. What am I doing wrong? I have over 30 years experience in IT so I doubt if all of this boils down to some rookie mistake.
I'd appreciate any input or suggestion, thanks!

Just to be sure, you've already checked these sections of the User Guide depending on if you're using Standalone agent or Managed by Veeam Backup and Replication Agents?

Check the requirements sections, and maybe share a screenshot of your configuration for the items to backup + the exclusions?

Hi Kurt,
At first blush looks good, so I think let's have you open a Support Case and let the Veeam Support team take a look and see what is happening with the exclusions.
Please include logs as per KB https://veeam.com/kb1832 and use the 1st radio option to select the job in question and export logs for it.
Please post the case number here once you've opened a case.
