how to open with B&R console vbk/vib files backuped by Veeam agent

Post by wpd »

Hello

i backup files on a share folder on a NAS (CIFS).
this job runs from Backup & Replication 9.5 U4

i tried to restore file from a Veeam agent for MS server 3.02, installed on another server, but i can access the share but it's "empty", no Veeam files although there is files.

My question is : can we open/restore files backuped by the B&R backup job from the Veeam agent ?
and reciprocally
Can we open/restore files backuped by a Veeam agent backup job from the B&R console ?

thanks,
++

You can open/restore any backups (agent-based and native backups) with Veeam B&R, however, you cannot import backups created by Veeam B&R host-based VM backup jobs to Veeam Agent. Thanks!

thanks Vitaly,

"you cannot import backups created by Veeam B&R VM jobs to Veeam Agent", the word "import" means open/restore right ?

Are you saying that the file share or mount point was processed by the agent backup and you cannot see the data inside the backup now? Thanks!
