Is there any method to manage the Agent Backup via Internet

Post by Kei »

Hi

- Current Situation
- There is VBR (all in one install) on AWS EC2
- There are some backup target servers on on-premises environtment
- Backup target servers do not have public ip (only private ip)
- I would like to use backup "Managed by agent"
- AWS EC2 and on-premises backup target servers are connected by internet (not VPN)

Is there any method to manage the Veeam Agent from VBR ?

Best regards

Hi Kei

I believe I gave you the answer in the other Topic:
post467335.html#p467335

Veeam Agent over NAT is not supported, but there are unofficial workarounds. Just follow my advice in the other topic and read through the comments.

But with a backup server on EC2 without a public ip and no vpn, how can you connect an agent to the backup server for policy management? Sounds impossible to me.
Either a public IP must be used or a VPN.

Thanks

Hi Kei

I‘m sorry.
I misread the part about the public ip. The shared folder server doesn‘t need a public ip for the agent backup.
If you follow the comments in the other topic, it should work.

Thanks
