Re: LAN free backup for physical windows server
Hi Sevan,
It will be possible only if the repository is attached directly to the Windows server itself because the target Data Mover will be running on this server, thus data transmission from the source Data Mover to the target one will be performed locally. Also, you may have a look at the preferred network setting if you want to route backup traffic over the dedicated network.
Thanks!

Hello,
yes, that's possible if you have a supported storage system for "backup from storage snapshot"
Best regards,
Hannes

Re: LAN free backup for physical windows server
Hi Sevan,
In fact, I'm not sure that I have a clear understanding of the question. I thought you were asking about network-less data transmission from the source server to a backup repository. Apparently, there won't be network interaction between Data Movers and traffic will be kept locally if the same server plays a role of source and repository.
Although, if you want to reduce the load on the production server, then it's worth checking the link provided by Hannes and this page of our help center.
Thanks!
