Migrating Agents to 9.5u3 "managed Agents"

Post by DaStivi »

Hi,
i've done some testing and what i can see sofar is that when gooing from unmanaged Agents backup to Managed, the Agents start a Full backup cycle in a new subfolder on the backup repository! did i something wrong or is this an expected behavior? the issues will start with big agents (few TBs) and saving them duplicated... also i just guess now, but old restorepoints from unmanged agents backup jobs won't get cleaned up correctly then!

best regards
Stephan

Hi Stephan,
Have you created agent backup job or agent backup policy for those computers?
Thanks!

Hi, i think its the same question like in this thread:
physical-cloud-f49/moving-from-agent-ma ... 47669.html

of course i created a agent protection group, added the hosts and then created ah "new" agent backup job and added the protection group! agent started then ah backup and runs a full backup to a new folder "VeeamAgentUserxxxxxxxx-xxxxx-11e0-0000-xxx111xxxx222xxx"

Right, so yes, you need to create a job deal with 2 backup chains for a while as mentioned in the related thread.
