Offsite Copy Job Slow, no activity

Post by VBR_Fan »

Hi there,

My backup Copy job is taking way too long and does mostly nothing (see attached). Can I configure the backup and/or copy job to address this?

Not sure... the Backup Copy Job runs continously waiting for new restore points to be processed.

Hi there, tx for the reply...

This is a once a day backup. How can I configure it not to wait?

There is no option for this. Backup Copy Jobs always work continously waiting for new restore points.
Can you please share why this is an issue for you ?

I was under the impression that I cannot use the offiste backups until the copy job is finished?
Furthermore, even if I can use files updated during the job, it takes 4 -5 hours (after the local job finishes) to start to copy the latest update.
See my attached screenshot o my original post.
I regard this as a big operation risk.

Does this make sense?

Hello,

Backup copy provides two operation modes which are Immediate and Periodic. In the case of Periodic copy mode, the job is running continuously and never stops. In the case with Immediate copy mode, the job "activates" only once a new backup appears on the source backup repository and stops it's activity once these backups are copied. I'm not sure what mode you are using, but with any of these, you can start using the backups once they are transferred to the target repository. You can find detailed information on how these modes work and general information about backup copy in the corresponding section of the user guide.

The time when the job starts its activity depends on the selected mode and the job's configuration. For example, periodic copy allows you to set up backup copy intervals. So you may want to check these aspects first of all.

If that does not help, we will need more information about your backup copy job configuration including additional screenshots from each step of the job configuration wizard, job statistics window, and so on.

Thanks
