During the update procedure, Veeam Backup & Replication may recreate Windows Firewall rules with default settings.
If you have manually modified Windows Firewall rules before installing a new cumulative patch, reapply those modifications after the update.

Does Windows Firewall recreation occur in V13.0.2.29 and future releases?

The following is supplementary information, but there is publicly available information regarding Windows Firewall as follows:
It seems contradictory to the design philosophy that settings may be recreated despite recommending Windows Firewall settings.

以下は補足ですが、WindowsFirewallについて以下の通り公開情報があります。

Our updater configures the Windows Firewall rules required for Veeam services, but not for services such as Remote Desktop Services.
Have you seen such services being reconfigured after an update or installation of Veeam products? If so, we should address that.

Currently, we are in the design phase based on publicly available information, and testing the functionality with updates will be conducted in a future phase.
We believe the WindowFirewall recreate statement mentioned in the publicly available information is included as a note because it occurred as an issue in the past.
Has this issue been addressed in subsequent versions?

I am not even sure there is an issue here. Veeam products should manage only their own Windows Firewall rules, not any unrelated rules you have created yourself.

Let me double-check with our Help Center team what exactly is meant by “may recreate Windows Firewall rules with default settings.”

Hi Fabian,

Upon contacting the Veeam Documentation Team regarding the relevant public information, we received a response stating that the recreation would be limited to the Veeam Networking Windows Firewall group.

The public information has also been updated accordingly.
