Restore Cloud backup of physical machine to VM
Hi,
is any way to convert cloud backup of physical server (agent backup) and restore it as VM on Hyper-v Server, I don't see that option in menu?

Hi Tutek
You need to use Instant Recovery to restore any Agent Backup to HyperV.
Make sure that you have added the HyperV Host or Cluster to Veeam.

Re: Restore Cloud backup of physical machine to VM
Yes, I have multiple hyper-v servers added and are visible in "Inventory"
I have option "Instant recovery" when I right click on backups that are on local storage, but I don't this option when I click on my cloud backup.
So maybe is there any other procedure to do this (export then convert to vm)?

Re: Restore Cloud backup of physical machine to VM
What backup mode do you have used for the Veeam Agent Backup?
File or Volume Level (Entire machine/Volume)?

Re: Restore Cloud backup of physical machine to VM
If this cloud server is backed up to a veeam Backup Repository, then it should work. Backup Mode looks ok.
It will not work if you targeted the backup of this agent to a veeam cloud connect repository for doing the backup.
I recommend to open a support case, if it's still greyed out. It's difficult for us to analyze this over the forum.

Re: Restore Cloud backup of physical machine to VM
No, you don't understand me, it's a local physical server which is backup by "Backup Copy" job and backup repository is set to my cloud service provider.
So I send backup of my local server to cloud backup and I'm trying to restore it as VM.

Re: Restore Cloud backup of physical machine to VM
Thanks for explaining.to cloud backup and I'm trying to restore it as VM.
That will not work as noted in the official guide.
You need to try this:For Instant Recovery to a Hyper-V VM, you can use Veeam Agent backups created on the Veeam backup repository. You cannot perform this operation with Veeam Agent backups created on the Veeam Cloud Connect repository.
Create a VM, boot the VM with the recovery media and do a bare metal recovery. No direct restore possibility with the veeam B&R Server.
Or try to export the disks as virtual disks.
