RMAN support for Solaris in v10

Post by doublejay »

Hello folks,

Veeam B&R v10 should bring RMAN support for the Veeam Agent for Solaris.

Does anyone have a little bit more information about that?

Will the Agent be added to the Veeam managed Agents or will it still be an unmanaged Agent running completely autonomous?

Cheers,
JJ

The agent for Solaris (and AIX) will be able to send backups to a Veeam Backup & Replication repository so you can have a central overview. They won't be able to be managed as we can do with the Veeam Agent for Windows/Linux.

Not yet, the Agent will be acting in a standalone mode with an ability to target backup repositories.

Thanks!

Can backup copy be created from Veeam Console for the same Solaris backup on the repo?
