Hello forum
If a file is renamed (e.g. by an user with the filemanager of the OS)
it`s extremely hard to restore the old version/name after a certain time
this rename has happened (because the original name is often forgotten).
A restore feature which would track file-renames by listing the file
with all it`s different names upon restore-request, would be very helpful.
(this should work as well, if the file is moved to another folder
Is this possible with Veeam? On physical servers and VMs? How?
Thank's a lot!
Mart
PS
We do not yet use Veeam for backup

Re: track renamed individual files
Hello Mart,
No unfortunately we do not list the file name changes, but even if file name has been modified - it remains in the same directory (so should be possible to find it by it's location). Moreover, you can browse the actual file content during file level recovery since backup file is mounted to the C:\VeeamFLR folder. Cheers!

Re: track renamed individual files
Thank's for the reply! What a pity that this is not possible. But it is possible
to have Veeam B&R listed all saved versions of a file?
Thank's a lot!
