transfer managed agents to new server

Post by krpi »

Hello,
when I add existing agents (physical servers/computers) to new server Veem B&R, they return message that are managed from another server. I found only possible way to transfer them by remove from old server, uninstall all components, add new server, install all components, restarts, etc

It is possible (without reinstalation agents and restarts) transfer physical infrastructure agents from Veeam B&R to new server ? Target for backup is B&R and is same version. New server B&R has new name. I don't need backup history.

Thanks,
best regards

Hi Martin,

You might want to try using backup configuration backup and import operation for such case, this should do the trick.

Thanks!

Hi Vitaliy,
Good point, but the new backup Veeam server has new name, there are already backups, etc...
Please, do you have another way?

Thanks!

I don't think there is another way, but how often and why do you migrate agents from one server to another?
