Twice Daily Incrementals

Post by patrickwilson412 »

Hopefully someone can tell me if this is possible or not. We currently run Veeam Backup and Replication on our VM's, but we also have an old Windows 2003 physical server that we are in the process of getting away from, but will eventually just use it for archives. If we upgrade this machine to 2008 R2, 1.) will it be able to be backed up by Veeam B&R? 2.) Could I do a twice daily incremental backup from this physical machine to Veeam? And if so, how? Thanks!

Hi,

1.) Yes, 2008R2 is supported by VAW.
2.) That depends on when exactly you want to start the backup. Generally speaking, Agents do not provide the option to run backup twice a day, but there might be possible workaround, depending on your requirements. For example you can schedule the backup to run every 12 hours.

Thanks!

My 2 cents: You can set up a job schedule in a server-focused manner by installing server license in the agent. Thanks!
