Unable to Restore from Shared Folder
Using latest Veeam B & R Ver. 9.5.4.2866 Update 4
Trying to Restore a backed up Virtual Server onto a Physical Machine using Bare Metal Recovery Boot CD. (Note: BOOT CD was created from the Veem Backup and Recovery Server machine)
I can browse to the share but no computers are found.
The Backup Repository is located in \\backupserver\Veeam (Backups are happening every night without fail) (Backup Type = VMware Backup)
i have tried looking in following folders on the and still not finding any computers
\\backupserver\veeam
\\backupserver\veeam\VEEAM REPO
\\backupserver\veeam\VEEAM REPO\Backup Job 1 (the Backup Job 1.vbm and all the .vib files are located here)
totally lost here as it should be very simple, i don't know what i am overlooking .

Re: Unable to Restore from Shared Folder
Hello,
and welcome to the forums.
As far as I remember, you cannot restore directly from the NAS share. You need to enter the VBR credentials. Then it will show the backups.
Best regards,
Hannes

Hi Hannes,
The VBR credentials ( Domain\Administrator ) are the same as the network share

Re: Unable to Restore from Shared Folder
Created new backup and copied over the backup folder to an External Hard Disk.
Tried restoring locally from External Hard Disk and got the following error " unsupported vbm format "

Re: Unable to Restore from Shared Folder
Hello,
it does not matter whether the credentials are the same. If you backup to a repository, then you need to restore by choosing "Veeam backup repository".
Thanks for the error message. That's what I mean and it is explained for example here

Re: Unable to Restore from Shared Folder
Hello BIM2019,
Which account is used to connect to Veeam B&R repository? If you are using admin of Veeam B&R server all agent backup files should be visible, while machine user can see only his own backup files. Cheers!
