User permission to install Veeam Agent
Hy!
I have a Linux Debian OS and I want to install Linux Agent from Veeam B&R. The server doesn't contain sudo. I want to create a specific user for install the agent. How can I create a property permission user for this goal? I think it can be at least root permission.
Thanks.

Re: User permission to install Veeam Agent
Nobody know about the permission?
I created a user and give it a root permission:
veeambackup@server:~$ groups veeambackup
veeambackup : veeambackup root
veeambackup@server:~$
But when I want to use this account to test credential in the server, I got the following error: Checking Linux credentials Error: Specified credentials doesn't have enough permissions.
What kind of permission do I need instead root? Or what is the correct way add root permission to Debian user?
Thanks.

Re: User permission to install Veeam Agent
Hi Adam
The user permission requirement for Veeam Agent for Linux in a management scenario are documented here:
https://www.veeam.com/kb2676
Either use root or sudo with the necessary permissions.
Thank you
Fabian

Hy Fabian!
What happen if the server doesn't contain the SUDO? I see the article shows when SUDO is installed on the server.

Then make sure that sudo is available. At least they mention it on their wiki that you can install it:
https://wiki.debian.org/sudo/
Or use root.
Thanks,
Fabian
