Veeam Agent ON Veeam R&D Server ?

Post by tcallejon »

Hello,

We have a Veeam R&D server on a 2008 R2, and also some important folders on this same server.
This server is used to backup all VM of our domain.

We were wondering if we can create a Backup Job of these important folders to send them to an Backup repository on a specific server.

We tried, but it says that a "Backup agent is missing".

Do we have to instal it ? it's possible to instal an agent on a Veeam R&D server ? it's dangerous for all other operational jobs ?

Thx for your help (I'm french by the way, sorry if i'm not good enought in English  )

Hello, it would be much better to use the File Backup job (you need v10 or later). These are specifically designed to do what you're trying to: backup important files and folders from any server or share. Thanks!

Thank you for you answer.

Yes i tried to do a File Backup Job, but i have 9.5 Version of Veeam R&D.
And when i do a Rescan on my Group of Computer it says me that no agent are installed.

I did the same on my NAS with no problem ( File Backup Job )

I recommend you upgrade to v10 then.
