Hello,
as Service Provider we have a lot VLAN, firewalls, rules etc...
To make agent backup easier, it would be nice to connect to host agent through a proxy. Currently I have to create a Firewall Rule for every agent through different firewalls.
VEEAM > [Backup FW] > [Customer FW] > Host
The rule has be managed fo every host, also for backup traffic to storage. Also, we have hosts in different Public and Private IP Subnets.
It would be nice to enable VEEAM to connect to agents over a proxy - so I have to make a rule only to the proxy and not for every host.
Best regards,
/Martin

Re: [FEATRURE-REQUEST] Veeam Agent Proxy
Hello Martin
I moved your topic to this forum.
In your feature request, you would like to deploy a proxy component for each customers subnet and use it to deploy, manage and backup the agents through the proxy? Also file level restore must run through the proxy?
Best,
Fabian

Re: [FEATRURE-REQUEST] Veeam Agent Proxy
Hi,
sorry for late response...
Yes, in our Setup, the VEEAM Server has no connection to the VMs directly, only to the HyperVisors (VMware, AHV, HyperV).
But some VMs need to be backed up using filelevel agent, for example Mounted NFS Shares etc. In this Case we have to open the Ports through multiple firewalls and the traffic blocked the Management Interfaces. For this case it would be nice to change traffic flow of FileLevel Agents thourgh a proxy which are running in the specific cluster.
Also Guest-Aware Backup thour a proxy would also be nice, an idea cames up these days
Best regards!
