Veeam Agent Windows Resume on Failure

Post by yakov63 »

Hello
I Installed VeeamAgentWindows_2.2.0.589 on remote machine.
Disk size 200 Gb. On the speed 3 mbt/sec this take 10 days.
I connected via pptp vpn, set a shared folder and run the first backup
(I hope the next backups will be incremental. but don't shure)

After 5 hours vpn was crashed. I resumed job but it deleted the existing file and start again.
I such way if resume start from beginning I will never copy all data
Is there some solution ?

With best regards

Hi Yakov,

Welcome to Veeam community forums and thanks for posting!

Currently, you may use Veeam Backup Cache feature to mitigate the given issue, but the connection has to be stable anyway, otherwise the agent won't be able to transfer the data from the cache to the target.

You are correct assuming that after the initial Full Backup Incrementals will follow, thus decreasing the amounts of data to be transferred (depends on the number of changes between the initial state of the data and the next state).

If the aforementioned solution won't help you might want to take a look at a possibility to create a local backup target to workaround the VPN instability.

BR,
Fedor
