Veeam Explorer for Oracle Hangs on Specify Oracle Home
We have just completed our first backup of an Oracle instance on our fairly new Veeam B&R setup. The backup job was successful, and we attempted to perform a test browse and restore. However, in Veeam Explorer for Oracle, when I try to specify the Oracle Home path in the Staging Server tab, it hangs (see screenshot). How do I resolve this so I can browse and restore Oracle DBs ? I have no Oracle experience so am likely missing something here. Any help would be greatly appreciated . Details below.
Veeam B&R: v11.0.1.1261
Veeam B&R server: Windows Server 2019 v1809
Veeam main backup repository: Red Hat Enterprise Linux v8.4
Oracle instance server: Windows Server 2019 v1809
Oracle instance: v12.1.0.2.0
Veeam B&R: v11.0.1.1261

Oracle instance server: Windows Server 2019 v1809

Re: Veeam Explorer for Oracle Hangs on Specify Oracle Home
Hi Paul,
Maybe DNS resolution from Veeam B&R server to the staging one does not work, it looks like a connectivity issue. For example, you may also check 3260-3270 ports range according to these requirements. One more thing to try is to specify the source Oracle server itself as a staging one and to see if it helps to workaround the problem.
However, I strongly recommend to open a support case and to ask our engineers to examine debug logs, I'm sure that they'll be able to determine the root cause. Please don't forget to share a support case ID with us.
Thanks!

Thanks PetrM,
We use our VB&R server as the staging server. I'll look into those TCP ports now. I'll also log a ticket if necessary. Wanted to put the question out to the community first.

Just to clarify, the VB&R server is the Veeam staging server and the Oracle host is the Oracle staging server.
I've logged a Veeam Support case for this, ref #02467695.

Correction: it seems the above number is a 'support ID'. It seems I should have posted the Case ref: 05252485. I don't know what the difference is between a support ref and a case ID.
