Where does Veeam save its configuration?
Hello there,
As I understand, we can back up veeam's configuration and then load it in a fresh installation.
But where does Veeam save the configuration when it is not backed up? Is it a one big file or does each component has its own configuration?
In case I don't want to back up the configuration - can i get it from somewhere else on the Veeam main server?
Thank you!

Re: Where does Veeam save its configuration?
Hi,
Are you referring to VBR configuration, or to Agent's configuration?
Thanks!

Re: Where does Veeam save its configuration?
Hi John.
Veeam Backup and Replication keeps it's configuration in a SQL Database selected during installation:
You can follow Configuration Backup\Restore User Guide article to backup\restore config using native Veeam Configuration Backup path or follow KB1889 to migrate between servers using SQL Database Backup path.
Managed agents configurations are kept within VBR database, whereas for standalone agents configuration is kept in local databases and could be Exported\Imported using respectful tools for Windows Agent and Linux Agent.
/Thanks!
Veeam Backup and Replication keeps it's configuration in a SQL Database selected during installation:
Code: Select all
[HKLM\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Backup and Replication] SqlServerName + SqlInstanceName + SqlDatabaseName
Managed agents configurations are kept within VBR database, whereas for standalone agents configuration is kept in local databases and could be Exported\Imported using respectful tools for Windows Agent and Linux Agent.
/Thanks!
