Hi All,
I've got a Windows Server vm on Proxmox9. This Windows server is connected to a 4Tb+ iSCSI LUN which hosts files from users. (lots of small files such as txt, xlsx, pdf, jpg, etc.)
Veeam Agent for Windows was installed.
I wish to backup those files, which backup mode should I use (e.g. Volume-level backup or file-level backup)
And should I use CBT Driver since that is iSCSI LUN, not a real local disk/volume ???
PS: The LUN is Block base from synoxxxx NAS
Thank you.

Re: Which Backup Mode to backup files which is in iSCSI LUN attached to Windows VM
Hi micngai8080,
Since this is a question about Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows, I have moved your topic to the correct forum.
Volume-level backup will normally provide better performance and more "restore" options, such as Restore of the entire machine as a new Proxmox VM.
I would use the CBT driver only if you are not using NTFS as the file system or if you experience performance issues with the default CBT mechanism. For NTFS, the default CBT mechanism is used, so no additional Veeam driver is required. If you choose to use our CBT driver, you will need to reboot the entire server after each Veeam Agent update.
Best,
Fabian

For Veeam and the operating system, your iSCSI LUN is simply another volume with the same capabilities as a locally attached disk. And should I use CBT Driver since that is iSCSI LUN, not a real local disk/volume ???
