Windows Defender - Veeam.ThreatHunterService.exe

Post by Vegabond75 »

Microsoft Defender is reporting:
'Upatre' malware was detected was detected by Microsoft Defender for Endpoint on servername.domain.com

The Microsoft Defender shows:
Veeam.ThreatHunterService.exe created file tmp000ffeda
Veeam.ThreatHunterService.ese interacted with file tmp000ffeda
'Upatre' malware was detected

I have searched on the server hard drive, but do not see that file name.

Is this normal behavior for the Veeam Threat Hunter Service?

Hi Dan,

Please ensure your antivirus software - Microsoft Defender - has all necessary exclusions as identified in this Veeam KB article:
