Automatically delete a tape before starting the backup job

I have a question about tape backup. I do a tape backup once a week. I need one tape per backup. Is there a possibility that Veeam will automatically delete the tape before starting the backup (Short Erase)? Currently I always do this manually in advance. In the data retention policy, I have set "Do not protect data (cyclically overwrite tapes as required)".

I believe you can use pre-job script to erase the tape.
Just curious, if you overwrite data, why do you need to erase the tape before writing new backup to it?

I've found that overwriting did not work and a new band is required.

I already thought about the pre-job script, but what are the commands to erase a tape?

There is no official script for that, but you can find scripts other customers use.
