Backup on a single LTO5 Drive

Post by m.heyne@noesse.de »

Hi everybody,

I have three BackupToDisk Jobs running over night. My plan is to copy the files during the day on a single LTO5 drive. There is more than enough space available. In the
past we used backup exec and habe 5 Tapes for each weekday. We want that the Software erase the tape complete before the new Job is started.

Is this method also possible with veeam - as I understand it will only Support libraries ?? If yes, can somebody give an idea how it needs to Setup.....

Thank you very much in advance for any help

cheers
Michael

Michael, standalone drives are also supported. You should be able to implement this scenario by specifying all your backup jobs as source for the backup to tape job and using the following media pool settings:

• Create a new media set for every backup session
• Do not protect data

Thanks.
