Dear All,
Apologies if this is the incorrect place to ask this question.
Currently we have an LT06 tape drive for our archive backups. And we are looking into options to replace this in the not to distant future...
The question was asked.
What would be a better way of performing the Archive backup process?
Would updating to a LT08 tape system be better than having an external Hard Drive system that we plug in for the backup and then power down after the backup has been completed.
Would anyone have a view on this?
Note: We already have on-site Primary backup and Veaam cloud backup as a copy job. And the current Tapes act as a fail safe for the other two systems.
Thanks
Matt

Re: Backup Question Tape or External Drive
Yeah tape is definitely the preferred archive media for longevity and reliability considerations.
