Backup repository to tape - unable to see BackupCopy VMs
I have two backups servers in two geographical sites. I backup VMs to a repository at site 1 then run a "backup copy" job of VMs to a repository at site 2.
When I create a new tape job at site 2 to backup the repository containing the "backup copy" jobs, there are no VMs or data calculated in the job. Why is this?
What I am trying to achieve is -
1) backup data at site 1
2) copy site 1 data to site 2
3) run tape job at site 2 to backup site 1 data
Is the backupcopy job the wrong way?
Should I instead, replicate the VM from site 1 to site 2 then backup the repository where the replicas reside?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Backup repository to tape - unable to see BackupCopy VMs
Are both backup copy and backup to tape jobs are registered within single backup server? If not, it's expected that the described scenario does not work - backups not tied to existing jobs do not get archived by backup to tape job. Thanks,

That makes sense. No they aren't, the backup copy job is registered on the Veeam backup server in site 1 and the tape job is registered on backup server in site 2.
I think this explains it for me. <head scratch>

Re: Backup repository to tape - unable to see BackupCopy VMs
Basically there are two options:
1) Make sure everything is orchestrated from single console
2) Create a fake job on second backup server, map it to existing backups and archive the fake job to tapes.
Thanks.
