Backup to Tape from two other Servers
Hello,
i have the following problem.
We have two Veeam Backup Server on two different locations. Both save their backups to a NAS on a third location.
So far so good.
Now we will save the backups from the NAS to Tape with a third Veeam Server on the the third location.
Can i import the Backups from NAS to the third Veeam per automation?
THX

Hello Sascha.
How backup files are saved to this third location? Are you using backup copy job or some sort of script? Thanks.

If that's a NAS - add it to Veeam B&R server as a repository and create backup to tape job. It's capable of processing backup files created by backup copy jobs, so you can write these backup files to tape.

Hello Dima,
thanks for your Support.
I have added the repositories to the third Server. The Backups from the repositories are imported. In the Backup to Tape job I choose the repositories, but the tape job not backed up the imported backups from the repository.

Re: Backup to Tape from two other Servers
Sascha,
Backup to tape ignores the imported backup files, so you need a file to tape job to transfer backups as a regular files. Backup copy backup mode might be the problem if you are running it in forever incremental backup mode (backups files get modified during merge operation, so Veeam B&R will treat them as new files every time). Is it possible to use periodic full backup (active full backup option) for your backup copy? Cheers!
