Backups from copy job to tape

How to configure veeam to upload only monthly and yearly backup's from copy job? In copy job I have 5w/12m/1y. Is there any option to automaticly delete backup copy that were copied to tape?

Hello,
The backup copy job deletes files when the retention is over. It is not relevant whether files were copied to tape or not. The only thing that counts is the configured retention in the backup copy job settings.

PS: I'm not sure what you mean with "upload only monthly & yearly".

I have copy with retention mentioned above but I only need to copy to tape monthly and yearly backups. Is GFS media pool made for this?

If that's what you are looking for - yes, you can configure monthly and yearly backups and configure the retention for them (description).

If I set monthly override protection to 12 month will it copy only monthly backups?

Hi Tom,

Yes, basically if you configure monthly backups and put 12 months data protection period - 12 months of data will be protected from overwriting.
But I'm not sure this is exactly what you are looking for.
Could you please clarify if I understood you correctly: you have a backup to tape job + backup copy job. You've configured these jobs with some schedule and now trying to configure the retention. Right?

Yes, I have backup copy job with retention 5y/12m/5w and backup to tape job which copy's all of backups that are one copy job repository. I need to copy only monthly backups to tape (vm backups are wery big). Mayby I need to make two copy jobs? One with monthly and yearly retention and copy it to tapes. And second with weeks only?
