Case # 07697503 - Tape restore sticks at 99%

I had to stop this job because the weekend backup jobs were due, and even though the restored file seems to be an appropriate size for the files restored, it won't open as it's technically corrupt.

I did have the tape server on the same box as everything else when the job was originally written (end of 2023). Restoring, the machine is now attached to a server that's a non-domain member.

I am assuming this is not an encryption key error but the autoloader (Overland Tandberg NEO Series Flextor II, firmware 3.50e; IBM Ultrium HH8) was "decrypting" at the point when the job was cancelled. The array controller is an HP P408e-p. Backup jobs are reported as good.

Hi Tim,

Sorry to hear about the challenges; I can see that according to the most recent Support findings, one of the files was recoverable and usable while another backup that had been restored appears to have been interrupted before the restore could complete.

It's unclear at the moment why the restore truly hanged like that, but please continue with Veeam Support to first get the restore completed as per the most recent instructions, and then Veeam Support will review the behavior of the initial failed restore to understand the root case.
