Catalog old tapes

Hello,

We migrated last year to the VEEAM backup & Replication solution.
Before Veeam we used HP Data Protector for our tape backups.
I want to decommission our old tape infrastructure but before removal i want to extract a tape inventory / catalog to see wich data is stored on each tape.

Is there a simple workaround to do the job?

Veeam Backup & Replication won't recognize content written by 3-party solution, neither will it be able to catalog the data residing on tapes.

So, unfortunately these operations need to be done by HP Data Protector.

Than i have to figure out how to retrieve the index/catalog for these old tapes in DP.

is there a HP Data Protector guru in the room?

Can I restore hp dataprotector tape data using Veeam B&R connected tape library ?

Nope, such tapes will be placed in Unrecognized media pool, and you won't be able to catalog them or restore backups from them. Thanks.
