Hi 4Um,
How does one determine when a cleaning tape is due to be replaced ?
I see nowhere in Veeam that advises you have X amount of cleans left before replacement
help centre topic https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=100 is a little vague, basically
informs you it will auto expire the tape when done.

Re: Cleaning tape usage-o-meter
Hi Joe.
There is no such setting because Tape Library has it's own configuration and decides when to make Cleaning Tape "retired". It is vendor-dependent and controlled by each vendor driver respectfully.
Veeam initiates drive cleaning, tape device does it for us. Sometimes we get "cleaning tape must be replaces" feedback from library, that means we can put said cleaning tape to Retired pool.
So to control said interval, check with library vendor!
/Cheers!
