If I were you, I'd continue working with support team, letting them investigate it further. It looks like your SQL server misbehaves or underperforms, which leads to the said behaviour. Thanks.

Re: Console very slow to move tape to media pool
Yes i know my SQL Veambackup is more than 8 GB and i use SQl express. It can be the problem. VEEam support says me to buy SQL server .. esasy to say bit very expensive to buy it is .. so i can't . it is not a solution.
How can i fix this ? because i have a lot af File to tape job to save, more that 2 millions / weeks because we have share CIFS.
My server Veam have 10 GB of memory ( Virtual Vm ware)
Thanks for your ideas.

I don't think you can really fix that. How can i fix this ?
When you're using Files to Tape jobs extensively (and more than 2 millions of individual files is considered to be exactly that), the product database may grow drastically, and SQL Express 10 GB limit can be exceeded rather fast, leading to undesired consequences.
Thanks.

Re: Console very slow to move tape to media pool
With files to tape job going on and modified versions of files being regularly archived, I'd say it's just a matter of time when the limit will be hit again. Thanks.

What i see, It is a big problem in Veeam B&R to save CIFS shared with sql express...
Symantec Back Exec do not have this problem in the part of sql databases and it is more easy, no problems on the SQL database and performance.

Re: Console very slow to move tape to media pool
SQL Express edition has a maximum memory utilized (per instance of SQL Server Database Engine) limitation of 1GB. This is not something we can improve or fix, thus it's recommend to have a standard (or higher) version of SQL server database for your backup server in case of large deployment.

Thanks for this Dima.
We will stay like that because Sql server Standard is too expensive to buy.
Is there another method to backup Share CIFS without the database SQL does not increase ? That I think not, except upgrade in SQL Server Standard.

Re: Console very slow to move tape to media pool
If the CIFS share in the question is located on a regular Windows host you could use Veeam Endpoint Backup Free to create a local backup of this physical machine (or VM) and then ship the backup to tape.Is there another method to backup Share CIFS without the database SQL does not increase ?

Hello Dima,
No, the shared CIFS is on a SAN Netapp, not in a Windows Host, just what is the problem..
