Del TL2k slot numbers

Post by aaron@ARB »

Hey Veeam,

Can you think why the tape slots in my Dell Tl2000 autoloader are not correct? they are in the format of 41xx and don't correspond to the actual slot numbers. I am using the latest firmware and the latest drivers as per Dells website.

TIA

Hello Aaron,

VBR gets the slot numbers from the library and UI should reflect the actual numbers. Can you check the DELL native tools?

Haha TIA meant 'thanks in advance' :)

In the dell tool (the web interface) they are named correctly based on the magazine they are in. The Symantec specific drivers list them correctly so perhaps they do some translation?

Anyone else with a TL2000 care to chime in what theirs are numbered like?

Cheers, aaron

These Russians don’t follow chat abbreviations and may count it as a signature for some reason.

Okay.. seems like a known issue.. Symantec have their own driver which makes it work for backup exec, perhaps veeam would have to follow suit.

I am happy to donate free of charge, a Dell TL2000 library to Veeam in Sydney if you want one to develop for this device ;)

As mentioned in the referenced thread, the current plan is to revise current implementation in version 9. Thanks.
