Is it possible to disable the daily media set temporary WITHOUT LOOSING the history of offline daily tapes? And enable it on a later time again?
The problem is: I have currently daily, weekly, monthly and yearly sets. It's a 24 slot library and we change tapes once a week. However since a while, there isn't enought time, that all tape jobs are finished on friday (the day we change the tapes). So until we improved our enviroment to have faster tape backups, I intend to disable the daily media set option to only do weekly, monthly and yearly backups.

Re: Disable daily in gfs media pool temporary
Hi Renato,
Sure, you can just uncheck the box next to Daily Media Set and the tape GFS job will stop trying to write to the daily media set while continuing to write to the others.
This will not affect the history, and the tape will be protected for the duration it was set for. However, to be extra sure, you can protect the tapes from the UI or using the tape's physical write protection switch, which will ensure that your data doesn't get overwritten.
