Hello,
Is it possible to stop Veeam from spanning one backup over multiple tapes if the size of the backup allows it?
We have the problem that sometimes tapes get overwritten and than the "chain" is broken for some backups.
Regards
Ahtse

Re: Disable the spanning over multiple tapes
Hello Christian
May I ask, did those tapes are over their expiration date? The backup server can overwrite any tape which has already expired.
Tapes which are not expired cannot just be overwritten by the backup server. I would check if your tape retention is configured for the right period. Then those tapes should never be overwritten before they expire.
You can also "protect" a tape. Which makes it impossible for the backup server to overwrite or delete it.

Hey Fabian,
Yes, this is configured but my customer still wants to stop the spanning of data for a reason I dont really know, they want to know if it is possible.
