We have Veeam set up to backup based on vCenter VM folders so that when new VMs are created, they get backed up automatically. Only issue is that we only need select VMs backed up from disk to tape, and since you can only specify backup to tape jobs using the job or repository, unwanted VMs get backed up to tape. Do we have any other option besides specifying separate backup to disk jobs?
VMWare 5.5 and Veeam B&R v8.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Disk-to-Tape Exclusions
You can
- Either create a backup copy job selecting only necessary VMs as its source and add that job as the source for backup to tape job
- Or enable Per-VM chain option in the repository setting and select only required chains as the source for file to tape job
Thanks.

Re: Disk-to-Tape Exclusions
Thank you Vladimir! If we go with the per-VM chain option, can we select just the needed VMs in a backup to tape job as well? Or can we only do that in a file to tape job?
