I Use Dell Drive with Veeam backup and replication management, my Thursday tape has a crack in the back and the drive is giving error 6.
can i just pop in new tape and run the back up or i have to program the new tape for the that day specifically?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

It depends on how you configured the media pool.
If you have enabled the option „ Add tapes from Free media pool automatically when more tapes are required“ in the media pool, the new tape should be automatically be used if it‘s available in the drive when the jobs needs to write the Thursday Tape.

If the tape job is sitting in the failed state caused by the tape corruption you can load new tape to the library, add it to the media pool and rerun the job.
