The current problem is that Veeam want to backup all existing fullbackups to Tape every day, but I want to backup every day to a tape with only the newest fullbackup.
I want to backup every day to a tape.

Example:
Mo = Tape1 with only the Fullbackup from Monday
Tue = Tape2 with only the Fullbackup from Tuesday

What retention do a backup and backup to tape job have? Am I right in assuming that the backup job always creates a full backup, meaning that each day of week is selected for full backup creation? Also, what settings are specified on media pool? I'm mostly interested in media set and retention settings.

Yes, each day of week is selected for full backup creation.

Media pool settings:

Media Set - Daily before Backup to Tape
Retention - 6 Days

Thanks for the help. :-)

Ok, so you have disk retention longer than tape one, thus, the issue. Due to shorter retention, a backup to tape job tries to copy those backups that have been already deleted from tapes, but are still present on disk. In order to avoid that you can increase retention on media pool.

Generally speaking, tapes are considered as a secondary backup destination used mostly for long-time retention. Thus, having longer retention on tapes is intended use case.

Kindly, let us know how it goes.
