export current media set upon job completion?
Hi together,
what is the option "export current media set upon job completion"?
The description from veeam says:
Select the Export current media set upon job completion check box if you want to pull out the tapes with the current media set from the tape device, for example, to move to a storage location. The tape device will eject the tapes that belong to the current media set when the media set is closed.
I do not understand it still, what is meant!?! When do I need this feature? What happens after the backup with the band?
Thank you for your answer.

Re: export current media set upon job completion?
Basically, if you want to take written tape or tapes out of the library, once a tape job is finished, you should use tape exporting functionality.
This operation will move tape or sequence of them (mediaset) to I/E slot in order for you to take them out.
Thanks.

What would happen if i have only 5 I/E slots in library, and last media set takes 15 tapes?

First 5 will be put in I/O slot, other tapes will be waiting their turn, until I/O slots get freed up.

Not sure whether I follow you on that. What exactly do you mean by "Close the job" - it has not appeared in this discussion previously, thus, I'm asking. Thanks.

Re: export current media set upon job completion?
if you check the edit settings for the job you can select two checkboxes.
first is eject. a normal thing like ejecting a DVD disc.
the second one is called sth. like export and close mediaset.
export is as far as i got an tape changer eject port. just a "bigger eject".
but the las thing... close the mediaset... how does it belong to an export?
