Feature Request: Incremental to tape using GFS media pool
I feel that the daily incremental backup should still go to tape regardless. I am using the GFS Media Pool.
I use the GFS media pool so I can do weekly, monthly and yearly to tape. I run a full job on the weekend.
In this scenario I do not have two copies of my data. It is sitting on the server.
If the server crashes then those incremental backups are lost.
If I want my daily incremental jobs on tape due to requirements, I should be able to do this.
Can this be submitted for a feature request?

Re: Feature Request: Incremental to tape using GFS media poo
We are new to veeam and the lack on incremental in the GFS is really disappointing.
We do backup to disk in our DC and then do a copy job to a secondary DC and then backup to tape from there, I can't for the life of me work out how I can do incremental backups with a GFS retention without having to run GFS and also a simple job, however the simple job still does full backups which takes too long.
Can you not give us any idea of when incremental will be implemented within GFS, we are still using BackupExec to backup the veeam repository to tape as, and I really hate to say this, tape handling is far superior in BackupExec.
Ed.
