Feature Request: No Eject on (previous) Job Errors/Warning
If an error occurs, eject of tape should be ignored.
So if a job or a job running before the tape job or a job where tape job relies on fails or has a warning the tape should not eject.
the user should be able to select: always eject, eject if no errors or eject if no warnings or errors.
This makes it very easy for the normal tape operator to know sth. has gone wrong.
especially in environments where an admin is not always available.
and IF an admin gets an warning/error email during the night.. (admins always check emails 24/7 ;-), he can mostly fix the problem and restart the backup without having to push the tape in again (because he is remote and not on site).

Re: Feature Request: No Eject on (previous) Job Errors/Warni
Poweruser,
Good request, noted. Thanks!
Edit: I've checked with QA team, it appears that Veeam B&R should not eject the tape in case of tape job failure. If you confirm this behavior - please open a case and share the case ID with, so I could pass the debug logs to QA team. Thank you in advance.

Okay that is fine.
But for that case veeam has to make sure, it wont write on the tape again next day if noone ejects it.
is this done?

If that was a software glitch then next day you will have a new job run similar to the regular retry. If that’s a damaged tape job won’t be able to use it anyway.
