So I was backing up a share \\machineA\Folder1 and \\machineA\Folder2.
That machine broke and I successfully restored (yay!) to \\machineNew\Folder1 and \\machineNew\Folder2.
Now I need to change the backup job so that it continues doing incremental jobs off this new location. Is that even possible?
Thanks!
I swore I read something about it but now I can't find it.

Re: File to Tape Job, Update Source Location
Hi @mike979
Glad to hear the restore was successful!
Unfortunately resuming incrementals won't be possible here, so at least one full of the share will be required. I'm afraid it's been like this since I can remember. Right now the tape job will consider it a "new" source backup. So sorry to say, at least once more you will need to bite the bullet and let the full process.

Ahhh OK. That's fine. So for the tapes that I already have with that backup, I can re-use them and just run a full b/u?

Re: File to Tape Job, Update Source Location
Yep, should be absolutely fine as long as the tapes are eligible for use (i.e., media set isn't closed, not full, etc) But you can just create a new job targeting the same media pool, or just add the new source to the existing job and remove the old one. Either works.
