GFS backup to tape-monthly and quarter same day

Hy!

What happen, when monthly and quarter are scheduled at the same day?
I configuroed a GFS backup to tape job with the following schedule:
-monthly: day of the month 23 (today)
-quarter: day of the quarter 23 last month of the quarter (today)

The job run and created only quarter backup, monthly backup didn't created. Is this the normal behaviour? Why didn't create a monthly and quaerter backup to two separete tape?

what would be the purpose of duplicating the data? That sounds like wasted time / money / tapes...
