Currently we use Tape Fulls to cover 12 'weekly Fulls'. This allows us to roll back 12 'week snaspshot' images. Disk space limitations is the reason for this.
(FYI I am using Veeam 9.5)
I want to leverage GFS with Tape Backups.
In order to satisfy what we are currently doing with our current schedules, I would need to eliminate creating Monthly Tape backups (using GFS).
I would (in theory) only need weekly (12 weeks), Quarterly, Yearly.
In GFS Media Set settings when creating a GFS Pool (Tape), if I set overwrite protection to 0 (zero) on Monthly, would that translate to no Monthly tape Backups being created?
Is there an approach I am not thinking of to achieve this goal?
