Hardware Encryption

Post by ober72 »

Please excuse this potentially silly question. I am not a big tape person :)

If my tape setup is using hardware encryption and then my hardware dies and needs to be replaced with different hardware (different vendor etc) there would be no issues with recovering data through veeam would there?

The password key is set in Veeam on the media pool.

thanks

If you are using Hardware encryption this is linked and controled via the tape device, Veeam will not use it's software encryption if hardware encryption is enabled.
