How not to use the same Tape to do Daily backup to tape?

Hi,

May I know how to prevent the tape from going in to the drive again despite of the completion of the previous backup to tape job?
My issue:
Day1 backup > Tape A
Day2 backup > Tape A
Day 3 backup > Tape A

What i want to achieve is:
Day1 backup > Tape A
Day2 backup > Tape B
Day 3 backup > Tape C
..and so on.

Hello and welcome to the community forums Rdon,

Under the media pool which is set as a target for your tape job change the media set creation option. You can set it to either 'Create new media set for every backup session' or to 'Daily at' to make sure that the tape will be 'closed' at a desired time. Cheers!
