Hello,

we have to change the magazines every day. Now we release the mags with the Buttons. Is there a way to release the mag automatically with veeam or an appending script?

You can "eject a tape" after the job has completed:

Hi Fabian,

the "eject tape" puts the tape back to the mag. But it does not unlock the mag. Wo have to unlock it with the opc.

As I see it, there isn't a command to release it, it must be done manually or from the WebUI of your tape hardware. I'm not aware of any tape hardware that lets a backup application release the magazine and I'm not sure it's part of the vendor tape drivers at all (IBM/HPE). So I'm afraid either webui or from the OPC as the HPE manual says.

You have to physically go to the library to remove tapes. It makes sense to release the magazine while you are standing in front of it.

Every library I have used unlocks magazines from library front panel.
