Good Day,
We have a customer he already has a the below 1 x HPE StoreEver MSL2024 FC Tape library, he want to implement new VMware vSphere 6.5 Standard edition as HA on 8 x HPE BL460c Gen9 with 1 x HPE 3PAR StoreServ 8200, 2 x HPE SN3000B 16Gb 24-port/12-port Active Fibre Channel Switch and 1 x HPE StoreOnce 5100 48 TB System.
He also has 1 x HPE DL360 Gen9 server which will run ESXi 6.5 on it, he asked us if he can configure a Windows Server 2012 R2 or Windows Server 2016 as Virtual Machine on it and configure the Veeam Backup and Replication 9.x and configure zoning between SAN Switch’s FC & HPE 3PAR & the MSL2024 FC and the 1 x HPE DL360 Gen9 server?
Thanking you in advanced,
Husam Ahmad

Re: HPE StoreEver MSL2024 FC
Hi Husam,
Most likely this scenario will work, but, please keep in mind, that we do not support the tape to vm pass-through scenarios. I’d recommend to use a Tape proxy between Veeam B&R and Tape device outside the VM infrastructure instead.
