Hello,
with veeam I backup some VMs on a NAS into a folder "VeeamBackup".
Then I want to write this folder "VeeamBackup" on a tape. All other files, I can write without an error on the tape.
The "VeeamBackup" folder gives this error back:
Task \\COBRA-nas01\Backup\VeeamBackup completed with warning. Details: Access is denied. Failed to open file [\\COBRA-nas01\Backup\VeeamBackup] in readonly mode.
When I see the permissions on Windows, the folder is Read only.
What can I do?
How can I write the VMs on the tape?
I need one job for this, normal files and the VMs.
Thank you.
Greetings

Re: Hyper-V Backup write on tape: file readonly mode
Hello,
Do you use backup to tape or file to tape job?
Have you tried to choose "jobs", instead of "repositories" as a source for the tape job?
I would also suggest to contact Veeam support team as required when posting about technical errors.
Thanks!

Hello,
I use File to tape and select the folder with the VM Backup files inside.
Can I write files and the VM job on one tape?

Yes you can. However the job will copy the whole folder every time if you choose it as a source.
And the reason of the error in your first post is probably that there is some recent activity blocking files of the folder(like a file is being copied).
Try to start the job after all such activities are done. Thanks!

You can probably write a PS script and set it as pre-job activity. The script will make use of custom PS function called Test-Lock and proceeds to job execution in case none of the files is locked. Thanks.
