Want to make on tape incremental backup one file share..low data changes...when tape is filled that veeam delete oldest inc backups and save new...like incremental forewer
How to restore files without veeam (offsite restore) to point in time on independent pc/server?
Job is configured like this:
files to tape
run incremental backup automatically
media pool:
tapes: one tape, disabled "add tapes...."
media set: do not create, always...
retention: do not protect data...
tnx

Re: Incremental files to tape - restore arhive to point in t
Daniel,
Here is what you can do. Setup two separate media pools for full and for incremental backups. For incremental media pool set the media set option to ‘Create new media set for every backup session’ and retention to and ‘Do not protect data (cyclically overwrite tapes as required)’
During every incremental job run it will create a new media set but since you have a predefined scope of tape media added (make sure that you’ve added a limited number of tape media that fits only one incremental job run) and overwrite old media set.

In case of one tape media you cant erase the incremental ‘restore point’ of your files without erasing the full backup

It's not possible. However, even VB&R Free Edition will be able to do that. Thanks. How to restore files without veeam (offsite restore) to point in time on independent pc/server?
